Do you see any similarities? Whataburger has a wee bit of beef with the new Wonder Woman logo.

Whataburger has been using their “W” logo, since 1972, and the logo got trademarked earlier this year.

Wonder Woman has had this original “W” logo, since the character’s inception with DC Comics in 1942.

This is the new “W” trademark that was released for the new Wonder Woman movie coming out next year. I really like the updated look and the wood grain effect!

Whataburger sells burgers, sandwiches, fries, shakes, and breakfast foods. Whataburger amicably contacted DC Comics, because DC Comics recently filed a trademark application for cookies, breakfast cereal, bubble gum, cake decorations, tea, and marmalades. Since they are tapping into the food industry, Whataburger worries the similarity in trademark design may confuse consumers. No lawsuits are being filed. Whataburger just wants to ensure each party’s rights and interests are protected.

Great! Hopefully, they can agree on something. Until then, let’s continue to enjoy Whataburger’s 100%, never frozen burgers and Wonder Woman‘s superhuman awesomeness!
