The feature of SnapChat that takes your location data and uses that information to insert a unique, location-specific photo frame or overlay onto your photo may actually be infringing on Investel’s iFramed™. Uh oh! This Canadian company created iFramed™ to use geo-location data gathered from its users and insert an advertiser’s content into a picture.
Investel has just filed a patent infringement lawsuit against SnapChat that claims they are using their intellectual property without a license.
