Meet the Team!
Principal Attorney and Owner
Leela is a licensed Patent Attorney with extensive experience in patent prosecution, specifically in chemistry, as well as various other types of engineering and technologies. She also has extensive experience with U.S. trademark practices, including obtaining trademark registrations, as well as defending Opposition and Cancellation proceedings, conducting regular policing to identify infringers, as well as prosecuting matters before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
Leela specializes in working with business owners to not only identify and protect their intellectual property but also to use their IP as a tool to grow their business through licensing and franchising. Leela works with business owners and entities of all sizes, ranging from solo practitioners to large corporations.
With over seven years of progressive legal experience, Leela’s professional experience includes patent work in the upstream oil and gas industry (e.g., patents for drilling muds and downhole tools), as well as several other technologies, including media, entertainment, consumer goods, and a specialty in trademark selection and registration.
Prior to starting her own practice, Leela worked for a mid-sized boutique IP firm in Houston, Texas as a patent attorney for four years, and then for a large general practice firm as the lead intellectual property attorney for a year and a half. Leela ultimately left the big firm environment to start her own practice.

Caroline is a licensed attorney with an interest in intellectual property and business law with over a decade of experience in litigation within many fields, especially oil & gas and intellectual property. She is a non-firm lawyer that provides legal counsel and advice to Madan Law PLLC and its clients.

Of Counsel Attorney
Jon is a registered patent attorney. He has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications within a wide variety of technical fields, including the mechanical arts, computer software, oil drilling, musical instruments, cutting tools, medical drug delivery, smart card technology, dental/medical/cannabis devices, farming equipment, educational tools, software methods/applications, and aerospace. He has conducted prior art searches, responded to many office actions, and done patent licensing strategy analysis. Jon is a non-firm lawyer that provides legal counsel and advice to Madan Law PLLC and its clients.

Office Manager / Legal Assistant
Shannon is responsible for handling all responsibilities pertaining to administrative and office managerial needs at Madan Law. She also manages the social media accounts and updates followers daily on the latest intellectual property news, as well as all Madan Law happenings, and enjoys sprinkling in some positive vibes here and there! Shannon loves to do yoga and takes her daughter with her to the yoga studio regularly. Being outside in nature and reading are a couple of her other favorite things to do. She also volunteers for several different charities.
